Founded in 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is an international service organization. It. is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women. Alpha Kappa Alpha is an exemplary organization founded on a legacy of sisterhood, scholarship and service.

Gamma Nu Omega Chapter was founded on February 7, 1942, and has been dedicated to serving our community on the local, state and international levels. For over sixty eight years the chapter has been a stable force and a guiding light throughout the Metropolitan Columbia, SC area.
